Touchwood was founded by John Lammerts van Bueren.
As a passionate sailor he has been deeply involved in the classic sailing yacht scene around the world for more than 20 years. Following close to one hundred restorations and new constructions of metre and other classic yachts, the scarce supply of the typical yacht building lumbers used at the beginning of last century became apparent. Especially the supply of Sitka Spruce in the specific long lengths for mast & spar construction had become close to impossible.
